Automated Average Labor Time Settings refers to the average labor time calculated automatically based on the repair details. To update these values, you must have Field Picklist Value Add/Edit permission. For details, see User Permissions and Roles.
The Automated Average Labor Time Settings section contains the following:
Enable Average Labor Time Calculation : To automatically calculate an average labor time based on the repair history when creating a repair. This can be used as a Repair Time Standard for the technicians. The default value is Yes.
Average Labor Time Grouping : To group the repairs by Class or by Year, Make Model. The default value is Class.
Number of Repairs to Include : To determine the number of hours to be used to find the average hours to complete a repair. For example, if the values of number of repairs are 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, then the default value is 20.
Buffer Time Percentage : To add buffer time to the average labor time. For example, if the average labor time is 60 minutes and 10% is added as buffer time, then 6 minutes is a buffer time. The total Hours will be 1 hour and 6 minutes to complete the repair. The buffer time is based on the technician's efficiency. You can add any value between 0 to 100%. .The default value is 10 %.

To view the Edit Automated Average Labor Time Settings dialog box, click the Edit Automated Average Labor Time settings link.
1. Click the Setup module.
2. In the Application Setup section, do one of the following:
§ Click next to the Maintenance option, and then click Settings.
§ In the Maintenance section of Application Setup, click the Settings link.
The Maintenance Settings page opens.
3. In the Automated Average Labor Time Settings section, click Edit Automated Average Labor Time Settings.
The Edit Automated Average Labor Time Settings dialog box opens.
4. Select the Edit Automated Average Labor Time Calculation check box, if you want to automatically calculate an average labor time based on the repair history.
5. In the Average Time Labor Grouping list, select either Class or Year, Make and Model.
6. In the Number of Repairs to Include list, select the number of repairs to be included to calculate the average labor time.
7. In the Buffer Time Percentage box, type the time in percentage to be added in the average time.
Note: All fields are mandatory if the Edit Automated Average Labor Time Calculation check box is selected.
8. Click one of the following:
§ Save to save the information and close the dialog box.
§ Cancel to disregard any changes and close the dialog box.
