The Custom Specification section lets you add specification that defines a item. Adding specification makes a item unique and lets you differentiate the item from a similar item.
Tip
To view the Custom Specifications section, click the Custom Specifications link.
Note: You can use the Show Only search list to display the specifications added for a particular category. |
With the required permission, you can add custom specifications to a item.
1. Search and view a item record.
2. In the Custom Specifications section of the Master tab, click the Add New Custom Spec link.
The Add Item Custom Spec dialog box opens.
3. In the Category list, select a category for which you want to add the specification.
4. Perform one of the following:
o In the Select Existing Type list, select an existing type of specification.
o In the Create a New Type box, enter a new type of specification.
5. In the Name box, type a name for the specification.
Note: Optionally, you can perform the following: · In the Number box, type a unique number for the specification. · In the Qty box, type the quantity of item available for the particular specification. · In the Description box, type a brief description about the specification. |
6. Click one of the following:
o Save to save the information and close the dialog box.
o Save & New to save the information and add another record.
o Cancel to disregard any changes and close the dialog box.
You can edit a custom specification to modify or update the specification details.
1. Search and view a item record.
2. In the Custom Specifications section, click Edit next to a specification you want to edit.
3. In the Edit Item Custom Spec dialog box, make the changes as desired.
4. Click one of the following:
o Save to save the information and close the dialog box.
o Cancel to disregard any changes and close the dialog box.
With the required permission, you can delete a custom specification.
1. Search and view a item record.
2. In the Custom Specifications section, click Edit next to a specification you want to delete.
3. In the Edit Item Custom Spec dialog box, click Delete.
4. In the Delete Item Custom Spec dialog box, click one of the following:
o Yes, Delete the Custom Spec to confirm deletion.
o Cancel to close the dialog box.
