Managing Substitute Stock

A substitute stock is a item recommended if the original item is out of stock. The Substitute Stock section lets you manage a list of the substitute items for an item.

Tip

To view the Substitute Stock section, click the Substitute Stock link.

Adding a Substitute Item

With the required permission, you can add substitute items to an item.

To add a substitute item

1.    Search and view a item record.

2.    In the Substitute Stock section of the Master tab, click the Add New Substitute Item link.

The Add Substitute Stock dialog box opens.

3.    In the Item Number box, type a item number.

4.    In the Storeroom list, select the item's storeroom.

5.    Click one of the following:

o      Save to save the information and close the dialog box.

o      Save & New to save the information and add another record.

o      Cancel to disregard any changes and close the dialog box.

Removing a Substitute Item

You can remove the substitute items of a item if not required.

To remove substitute a item

1.    Search and view a item record.

2.    In the Substitute Stock section, select one or more items you want to remove.

3.    Click the Remove Substitute Item link.

The substitute item is removed.
